Madeleine Dalla Torre Castillo is a first generation Swede from Nicaragua that currently lives and works out of New York City and Los Angeles. Inspired by the urban culture of her youth, she discovered her passion for photography in her early ages. So far, her photography has taken on the path of the universal journey to belong, scraping against the dichotomy of her own experience as a migrant. Grappling with cultural and social changes as a result of the diaspora has fueled her work to create room for authenticity in an ever evolving sociopolitical landscape. While Dalla's work celebrates the beauty of marginalized groups, her work is visually a blend of soft and bold compositions - it's meditative, emotive and honors individuality. Dalla has exhibited her work at MILK Studios and Apple to name a few.
